Welcome
Permaculture Synergies offers a lifestyle and importantly, a PLACE, in an advanced technological era of mass communication, clutter, and separation for getting one's life together.

We believe dealing with separation is this period of history's foremost challenge. Our project is based on the belief that small, land-based community can be the natural, facilitative environment for offering many, new lines of communication.

In this spirit we view the founding of our new community as a means to begin the dialog.

Permaculture Synergies is starting a new, intentional community focused on the development of various areas of permaculture or sustainable, low cost, worker-run technology.  We are located in a scenic, rural area of SE Ohio near Ohio University with its 21,000 students.

We want to organize a community where true wealth is  having the time and space for one's imagination, creativity, and cooperative impulse to roam.

We seek to attract small groups of permaculturists in a land-based environment where people can take fuller responsibility for their lives, their habitat, and new, productive relationships that can help fill with meaningful activities the vast gap that exists between the solitary individual and the many unfulfilling, large-scale, and now increasingly failing institutions of today's gadget filled "society of the spectacle".

Bringing people together who have common work interests, via questionnaires, followed by a series of weekends at a local inn for far ranging discussions will enable the assembling of people with both shared values and work interests and going far beyond the usual situation of moving into an area with little attention given to who one's neighbors will be.

Permaculture Synergies has previously founded a successful community with a blend of private and common land in SE Ohio and has many years experience in the intentional community movement.  We believe it is time for a self-selected, living/learning environment with an emphasis on multiple work possibilities in sustainable technology that can also have the potential for offering a broad range of learning options of activities in more responsible, fulfilling living to the larger public.
